It happens every year, yet many people react as it’s the first time it’s happened in history.

I’m talking about the “new year, new me” resolutions of course.

You see people posting about it on social media, how this is going to be different/their year/ground zero.

Then what do they do? The same as last year. Join a gym (still with no clue what they’re doing), a slimming club (because it worked before…then why do you need to join again if it worked? Oh you didn’t learn anything). Quit smoking (I’m all for that, but if you’ve failed before, you’ll fail again).

Why does the circle return to the start every year? Because people DO THE SAME THINGS EACH YEAR. If it didn’t work before, why do you think it’ll work now.

So if you want to make a change (a real change, not a “look at me everyone I’m making an effort” change), then it HAS to be different.

I mentioned my 400 metre PB challenge the other day. My training for that is going to be off the charts as far as I’m concerned. I’m used to pushing myself, but this is something very different. I fully expect to be sick whilst training a number of times between now and June. But if I don’t do it, I won’t succeed.

You don’t have to push yourself that hard, but if you want to complete a fitness challenge you’ve never done, or to have a body you’ve never had (or haven’t had for 20/30 years), you’ve got to put in the time. You’ve got to pay the piper.

You’ve still got time to join the first 10×10 Challenge, 10 day weight loss programme starting tomorrow. This one is just £15. From the next one the price will increase to £25 and I’ll be running them less frequently than last year.

If you already know what you’re doing and don’t need any help that’s cool. But if you’re in any way unsure and you need my help, that’s the cheapest price for training with me that you’re going to see all year. (Obviously I’m more than happy for you to leave it a few weeks and pay me more 🙂 ).
