Did you know that we ate 40% more saturated fat in the 1970’s. FORTY PERCENT!!!!!
That’s a lot of fat. But guess what, were were slimmer and suffered less heart disease back then.
But saturated fat causes obesity and heart disease, doesn’t it? That’s what you’ve been told for the last 40 years.
Something must be wrong mustn’t it….maybe I’ve got my numbers wrong, what do you reckon?
You’d better not have though “yes”. I don’t make mistakes!!!!
As I’ve told you time and time again…fat doesn’t make you fat! And whilst the jury (the jury being me) is still out on the overall impact of saturated fat in your diet, which is why you should control intake…( eg, I recommend no more than 2 egg yolks per day with my nutrition plans). You should not avoid it completely, and you DEFINITELY shouldn’t follow any government guidelines.
So, with Christmas looming what should you be eating…and avoiding. Now I’m not going to spoil your break, but if I didn’t give you some help I wouldn’t be much of a PT would I?
Eat as much meat (yes all meats), fish, eggs, and green vegetables as you want. If you’re getting sausages and bacon try to get them from your local butchers, made on site.
Control intake of root vegetables, crisps, baked (unsweetened) biscuits, pretzels etc.
Limit intake of sugar…chocolate, minced pies, puddings, etc.
Follow those guidelines and you’ll limit your weight gain, and make your January purge much easier.
